Official statistics on which cars enter the Georgian fleet: first registrations by quarter, by brand and by model. These are not sales and not prices — this is what people actually import and register.

Change is in percent. ≈ means within ±5%, i.e. practically unchanged — quarters drift seasonally anyway. — means the row was not in the top 25 in the comparison quarter, or that quarter could not be read.

What these figures measure

A first registration is a car entering the Georgian fleet for the first time — in practice an import, new or used. A resale inside the country (a car moving from one owner to another) is not counted here.

  • These are not sales statistics and not prices — for what a car costs in Georgia, the chat assistant checks live listings.
  • Geostat publishes only the top 25 brands and the top 25 models within each; everything else sits in one “other” bucket with no separate figure.
  • A quarter is the finest granularity — there is no monthly data.
  • One model appears in the registry under two spellings (RAV4 and RAV 4); we merge such rows and show the most frequent spelling.

What is a “first registration”?

The first time a car is registered in Georgia — when it first appears in the MIA Service Agency registry. An imported car, new or used, counts this way; a car resold inside the country does not. That makes this figure the closest official measure of imports and real market demand.

Why is a specific model missing?

Geostat publishes only the top 25 brands per quarter and the top 25 models within each brand. Anything below that threshold is summed into an “other” bucket and has no separate number — neither here nor on Geostat's site.

How fresh is the data?

A quarter is published a few weeks after it ends, so the data lags by roughly one quarter. The page checks once a day whether a new quarter has been published and switches to it automatically.

Can I use this to decide what to buy?

Popularity is a good guide to parts availability and ease of resale, but on its own it is not a reason to buy. For a specific car, check the VIN first, calculate customs and ask the chat for the local price — all three are on this site.
